Important Updates on JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2023

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Main exam dates 2023. As per the JEE Main 2023 exam dates available at the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in 2023. The JEE Main session 2 is scheduled to be held on April 06, 08, 10, 11, and 12. The IIT JEE Main 2023 application form for April session will be available at jeemain.nta.nic.in soon. The NTA JEE Main 2023 number of attempts is 2- January and April. The IIT JEE Main 2023 session 1 held on January 24, 25, 28, 29, 30 , 31, and February 1. As per the NTA, a total of 8.6 lakh students applied for the IIT JEE Main 2023 January exam, out of which, 8.22 lakh candidates appeared for it .

JEE Main 2023 Registration and Admit Card

JEE Main 2023 Registration Dates have been announced.

 NTA will issue the JEE Main 2023 admit card session 2 soon on the official website. The authorities will release the JEE Main session 2 admit card release date soon. Candidates will be able to download the JEE Main admit card session 2 online at the official website. The direct link for JEE Main admit card 2023 download will be activated at jeemain.nta.nic.in 2023.

Alternatively, the NTA JEE Main admit card 2023 link will also be made available at the NTA website - nta.ac.in. The NTA will release the JEE Mains 2023 city intimation slip at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates will be able to download JEE Main city allotment 2023 through the application number and password.

JEE Main 2023 Answer Key, Result and Scorecard

NTA will release the JEE Main Answer Keys once the exam is conducted. Candidates can challenge the answer key by paying a fee of INR 200 per question. However, if the claim is accepted by NTA the fee will be refunded by the agency.

  • NTA will release the JEE Main 2023 Result at its official portal.
  • Only the top 2,50,000 candidates of JEE Main can register for JEE Advanced.
  • JEE Main 2023 Scorecard will be released for the unqualified as well as qualified candidates after the declaration of the result.
  • In addition, JEE Main 2023 Results will be released in the form of a scorecard and All India Rank.
  • All India Rank list for Paper 1 will also be released along with the JEE Main 2023 result.
  • All India Rank list for Paper 2 will be released after the last session of JEE Main 2023.

JEE Main 2023 Counselling Dates

  • JEE Main Counselling 2023 - JoSAA will conduct the JEE Main 2023 counselling process in online mode
  • Candidates qualified on the basis of NTA JEE 2023 results will be eligible to apply for the counselling of JEE Main 2023 in order to get admission in NITs, IIITs or GFTIs.
  • The JoSAA authorities will conduct the counselling for JEE Main in 6 rounds.
  • Aspirants can also check the total number of seats in JEE Main 2023 online through the seat matrix. Candidates shall be able to check the JEE Main counselling date 2023 on the official website.

JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines

  • Students must reach the JEE Main Exam Center at the time allotted to them on the admit card.
  • Mentioned below are the JEE Main exam day guidelines for the D-Day which every candidate need to adhere to it:
  • No candidates will be allowed entry in JEE Main 2023 exam centre after gate closing time and candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam centre premises before the exam concludes.
  • Candidates wearing any special attire due to religious reasons are advised to reach the exam centres earlier in order to undergo thorough checking and mandatory frisking.
  • The candidate must carry admit card of JEE Main 2023 along with all the documents to carry for JEE Mains to the exam centre. A candidate who does not possess the NTA JEE Mains hall ticket 2023 will not be permitted for the examination under any circumstances by the Centre Superintendent.
  • Before reaching the JEE Main exam centres, candidates have to duly fill the self-declaration form, paste their passport sized photograph and put the left hand thumb impression in the space provided.
  • Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as instructed by the centre superintendent/invigilators.
  • Social distancing must be maintained by the candidates.
  • Candidates should take their seat immediately after the opening of the examination hall. They can log-in and read instruction, before the commencement of the exam.
  • Pen/Pencil and blank paper of rough work will be provided in the examination hall. Candidates must write their name and roll number at the top of their sheet. This sheet needs to be returned to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.
  • Candidates need to enter the required details in the attendance sheet, put signature and paste photograph at the designated place.
  • Candidates need to ensure that their left thumb impression should be clear and not smudge on the attendance sheet.
  • Candidates claiming PwD reservation must carry PwD certificate issued by the competent authority to the exam centre.

JEE Main 2023 Exam Day Guidelines - Diabetic Candidates

PwD candidates can avail the facility of a scribe under certain conditions given below-

  • For Diabetic candidates, authorities have allowed carrying eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/ orange) and transparent water bottle.
  • However, they are not allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/candy/ sandwich into the examination hall.

To be eligible for a scribe, the PwD candidate must mention the category, type of disability, percentages of disability with complete proof, in the JEE Main 2022 Application Form. If any information is found incorrect, the candidature might get cancelled.

Banned Items inside the exam hall

Given below is a list of items that are not allowed inside the exam hall. If any candidate is found carrying any such item, his/her candidature might get cancelled and the candidate might even be debarred from all future examinations conducted by NTA.

  • Electronic gadgets/devices such as Mobile Phones, Calculators, smartwatches, etc.
  • Instrument/ Geometry Box/ Pencil box (except for Paper 2)
  • Handbag, Purse
  • Any kind of Paper/ Stationery
  • Eatables/ Snacks and Tea/ Coffee/ Cold drinks/ Water (loose or packed) (exceptions given below)
  • Mobile phone/ Earphone/ Microphone/ Pager
  • Camera, Tape Recorder
  • Any metallic item such as a metallic scale, kara, etc.

Exception for diabetic students

The exam authority has allowed the consumption of eatables and drinks as well as taking water bottles in the exam centre only for diabetic patients. The exception is made in order to help diabetic candidates keep their health conditions in check. Diabetic students are advised to carry the following items with them to JEE Main Exam Hall –

  • Fruits
  • Sugar tablets
  • Transparent water bottle

Note: Packaged foods such as chips/chocolate/sandwiches etc are not allowed inside even for diabetic patients.

JEE Advanced 2023 Exam Date

Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced, is an academic examination held annually in India. It is organised by one of the seven zonal IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board on a round-robin rotation pattern for the qualifying candidates of the JEE-Main.

Key Points on JEE Advanced and AAT

After JEE Advanced, interested candidates appear for AAT or Architecture Aptitude Test. AAT is an examination to screen candidates for admission to B.Arch courses. B. Arch courses are available in IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur. After JEE Advanced, it usually takes 2 or 3 weeks to finish AAT registration and other processes. Like JEE Advanced, AAT is also conducted by IITs.
